Key Duties and Responsibilities
1.Facilities
- Ensure a safe working environment for all users of the Town Centre.
- Make proper and adequate arrangements for the cleanliness of the Town Centre.
- Arrange with the Clerk to procure equipment / supplies / goods / services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain an inventory of consumables and supplies as relates to their role; ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and equipment is fit for use.
- Assist the Community Manager with the drawing up of specifications, tenders and quotations; assisting to identify suitable contractors and service providers.
- With the assistance of the Maintenance Operative undertake all tasks relating to the set up and closure of the Market Place for occasional special events and Market Place hires.
- Assist with street cleaning and litter picking as required.
2.Governance and Administration
- Undertake routine inspections of the Market Place to comply with the requirements of the Council's insurers and in accordance with Health and Safety guideline
- Ensure all appropriate Council policies and procedures are complied with
- Maintain a register of all tools and equipment
- Manage all equipment maintenance records and ensure all certification is up to date.
3.Financial Administration
- Adhere to the Council's procurement policies as outlined in the Financial Regulations
- Ensure any invoices are forwarded to the RFO in a timely manner.
4.Health and Safety
- Ensure that the Council's statutory obligations for the effective management of health and safety and safeguarding are met.
- Undertake / oversee statutory health and safety audits and inspections to identify issues and potential risks
- Ensure all paperwork/records/certification is relevant and up-to-date.
5.Communication and Community Engagement
- Liaise and communicate with facilities and office staff, Council members and Committee Chairs, members of the public, facility users, contractors and service providers and local authority representatives in a professional manner.
6.Equality and Diversity
- Support the Town Clerk in ensuring the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 are reflected in all aspects of the Council's work
7.Other
- Undertake other duties from time to time which are commensurate with the level and grading of the post
