 Minutes of the Annual Town Meeting 2021

Held on Wednesday 5th May 2021, via Zoom at 6.00 pm

Present: Cllr S. Bunney, Acting Chairman Market Rasen Town Council (In the Chair), Councillor Smith, Councillor Lakin-Whitworth, Councillor Taylor, Councillor Pilley, Councillor Burnett, Councillor Turner, Councillor Bridger, and Dianne Tuckett – Market Rasen Mail. In Attendance: Lucy Waller Town, Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer Market Rasen Town Council 

The Meeting opened at 6pm with a minute of reflection in memory of late Councillor John Matthews.  Councillor Bunney informed those present that a Town celebration event for both the life of John Matthews and the end of lockdown would take place on the Market Square at 3pm on the 11th  July. 

1.  Apologies for absence

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor P. Harrold and West Lindsey District Councillor McNeil.

2.  Minutes: To approve the Minutes of the Annual Town Meeting – 25th April 2019   

It was RESOLVED to approve the Minutes of the Annual Town Meeting – 25th April 2019 as a correct record.         

3.  To note that the Chairman of the Town Council will call an additional Meeting of the Electors at such time as it is safe to hold a large public meeting face to face.  The Town council annual report to be made available at this later meeting. 

Those present noted that an additional town meeting would be called, when safe, hopefully in the summer, to cover the usual aspects of the annual town meeting. 

4.   Public Forum of no more than 10 minutes to briefly raise matters for inclusion in the next Meeting of the Electors. 

The following items were raised:

• Highways matters – including road safety, repairs, pavements, and parking. 
• Increased pressure on infrastructure – including leisure facilities and the GP’s Surgery.
• Enforcement issues

The meeting closed at 6.19pm
